BLACK GIRL MAGIC DAY

BGMD Club

Program Guidelines

The Black Girl Magic Day Club is a safe, empowering, and creative space where girls can explore their talents, build confidence, and support one another through arts, crafts, mentorship, and discussion.

Respect for Everyone

BGMD Club is built on kindness and respect. Participants are expected to treat all students and instructors with kindness, listen when others are speaking, encourage creativity, and celebrate each other’s individuality. Bullying, teasing, or disrespectful behavior is not permitted.

Participation

Students are encouraged to actively participate in activities and discussions. Participation may include sharing ideas, asking questions, showing artwork, and supporting classmates. Every student’s voice matters.

Camera Expectations

For virtual sessions, students are encouraged to keep their cameras on when possible so the instructor can engage with them and support their work. We understand that families may have different comfort levels.

Materials

Each session includes creative activities. Students should have their materials ready before the session begins. Typical supplies may include paper or sketchbook, markers or crayons, glue, scissors, and magazines or printed images.

Safe and Positive Environment

BGMD Club is a positive environment where girls can express themselves freely. Students are encouraged to share ideas confidently, support classmates, and explore creativity without fear of judgment. There is no wrong way to create art.

Parent Support

Parents and guardians play an important role in helping students prepare for sessions. Families can support their child by ensuring they log in on time, helping gather materials before class, and encouraging participation.

Attendance

Regular attendance helps students build connections with their peers and fully experience the program. If a student must miss a session, families are encouraged to notify the BGMD team.

Our Mission

The Black Girl Magic Day Club exists to nurture creativity, confidence, leadership, and self-expression in girls. Through mentorship, art, and community, we are building a space where every girl is reminded that her voice, her dreams, and her magic matter.
