BGMD TEAM ONBOARDING • SCREEN FOUR

Tools & Access

These are the tools we use to run Black Girl Magic Day. Before you start tasks or watch orientation videos, make sure you have access to each one that applies to your role.

Microsoft Teams

Our main hub for communication, meetings, and shared files. Each department will have its own channel.

  • Check your email for an invite to join the BGMD Teams workspace.
  • Sign in with the email address you provided during onboarding.
  • Join your department channel (Programs, Sponsorships, Marketing, Ops, Finance).

BGMD Team Portal (this site)

This onboarding portal is your home base for mission, screens, videos, SOPs, and checklists. Bookmark this link so you can return to it any time.

  • Read through each screen in order.
  • Return here when you need clarity on mission, roles, or expectations.

File Storage

Department-specific documents (SOPs, templates, calendars) will be stored in shared folders connected to Teams.

  • Access your department’s shared folder from Teams.
  • Do not create personal versions of core documents unless asked.
  • Ask your department lead where to save new files.

From Offer to Activation

Step 1: Offer confirmed & role accepted
Step 2: Paperwork completed

Before you move to the next screen, confirm that you:

  • Can log into Microsoft Teams.

  • Have the BGMD Team Portal bookmarked.
  • Know where your department’s shared files live.
  • Have any app logins or links shared by your department lead.
If you’re still waiting on access to anything listed above, reach out to Operations & Administration. We’ll get you set up — no one moves forward alone.
